Muvi Television is a private owned television Station established in Zambia’s capital city Lusaka about seven years ago. The first broadcasting licence that Muvi TV had only allowed it to cover only Lusaka city.
When Muvi TV sold its content to the MY TV bouquet and was watched all over the country via satellite, a tiff between the TV station and the government arose. Muvi Television first had license that could only allow it to televise in the capital city Lusaka. From then Muvi television decided to televise throughout the country. But was denied a national wide broadcast license. It then decided to broadcast using a pay television called My Television. This was to let people that are outside Lusaka, to also have a chance of watching Muvi Television. Ministry of Information and broadcasting services warned Muvi Television of having their license terminated. MUVI Television continued with the broadcast using My TV. Muvi television was later issued a license in the year 2009. Muvi television later in the year introduced a satellite broadcast. The broadcast that you only have to buy a Muvi TV smart card and only pay monthly subscription of only K12, 000.
