Hey guys, i need your help.

I'am journalist in Mozambique and, with my colleagues, all awarded journalist, had an brillant idea regarding the creation of an Journalistic Investigative Agency or Agencia de Investigacao Jornalistica in Portuguese. We have done a lot of things seeking to achieve our goal, and we registered the organization as an legal entity as well. Now, when we want to go ahead, we found that the way is plent of difficulties. What we want right now, is to develop a Strategic Plan of what we are, what we want to be and how. Also we need to elabotare specific projects in order to be funded by different donnors, but also troubles. We dont have anough experience in this field, as we are only journalists and we do well is to tell stories. So, please, need help.
Note that all of the founder members, namely me Arao Valoi, Lazaro Mabunda and Boaventura Mandlate are internationally awarded journalists.

Dear colleague Aara Valoi,

It is and old story in our job : we journalists have good ideas but do not know how to live and even "survive" with. So many failures happen beacause of that... I have experienced a lot and I've heard about many in our profession.

According to my experience, you need now to write a business plan as soon as possible. To tell it in a simple way, it means a document that precises reasonnable expense and recipe of your activity in middle term (from 2 to 3 years) :
- first solution : you and your "plan-mates" have the competency to do it seriously ;
- second solution : if not, you have to ask a professional of strategy in business. It could be a friend for free. Or someone you will pay. You have to explain him or her your aims, your wishes, your vision and he/she will turn that into figures : he/she is not a magician but a professional.

Do not forget when U look for the one who will write for U a business plan (and when U work with him/her) : it is "not" anymore an investigative agency, it is now a BUSINESS, a COMPANY.
